XenConsole Coming soon

Every XenServer pool, in one web console.

XenConsole manages XenServer from the browser, the way vCenter manages VMware: pools, hosts and VMs in real time, VM consoles, migrations, storage and networks. Replication between data centres, backup to your NFS or SMB shares and conversion from VMware are built in.

In action

Try XenConsole right here

The console in the browser, on sample data: browse pools, hosts and VMs, open the console of a VM, migrate it to another pool with its disks, follow a replication and the restore points of a backup, and start a conversion from VMware.

The interface is the product's own, in its original language; the data are sample data and the simulation is not connected to any system.

The problem

Leaving vCenter, a Windows client remains

Teams moving from VMware to XenServer leave a web console that sees every cluster for XenCenter: a Windows application that every administrator installs on their own PC, with one connection per pool.

Replication between sites, backups and the conversion of the VMware VMs need separate tools, each with its own interface and its own accounts.

The answer

One console, in the browser

XenConsole is installed once, on a Linux or Windows machine or as a Docker container, and connects to all your pools. Administrators open it in the browser with their Active Directory account and the role you give them, and every operation ends up in the audit log.

It uses the same keys as XenCenter for folders, tags, custom fields, saved searches and maintenance mode, so the two can be used side by side during the migration.

Features

What XenConsole does

Inventory and VM operations

Pools, hosts and VMs of every site in a tree and in lists with filters, folders and tags. Start, stop, snapshots with their tree, clones, templates and vApps, live migration within a pool, with the disks or to another pool.

The VM console in the browser

The screen of a VM in a browser tab, with Ctrl+Alt+Del and the CD drive. The connection goes through XenConsole, so the browser never sees the XenServer session. Performance charts for hosts and VMs.

Hosts, storage and networks

Maintenance mode, high availability, updates and the rolling upgrade from XenServer 8 to 9. NFS, SMB, iSCSI, HBA and GFS2 storage, VLANs, bonds and storage interfaces, and the integrated disaster recovery of XenServer.

Replication between data centres

The engine of XenReplica: jobs with one or more VMs, chosen also by tag, a full copy and then only the changed blocks, Changed Block Tracking where available, mirrored snapshots, schedules and bandwidth limits.

Backup on your shares

Backup jobs write files to NFS or SMB repositories, independent of the pool: incremental, or a compressed full XVA every time. You keep the restore points you choose and restore them on any pool.

Migration from VMware

It drives the XenServer Conversion Manager appliance to convert VMs from vCenter or ESXi, and imports OVF and OVA packages and VHD, VMDK and VHDX disks from the browser. VMs also export to XVA and OVA.

Alarms on two levels

The thresholds of XenServer, which keep working when the console is off, and console rules on the performance data of every pool, with e-mail notifications.

Users, roles and audit

Local and AD/LDAP accounts with roles, from read-only to administrator. The audit log records every operation, together with the audit log of XenServer itself. HTTPS, API keys for scripts.

Side by side with XenCenter

The functions of XenCenter 2026 and the same keys for folders, tags, custom fields, saved searches and maintenance mode: what one tool does, the other sees.

How it works

One run, step by step

  1. 1

    Install it once

With the setup on Linux or Windows, or as a Docker container, on a machine that reaches the pools. Nothing goes on the hosts: XenConsole talks to XAPI on port 443, like XenCenter.

  2. 2

    Connect the pools

The address and account of each pool. You confirm the TLS fingerprint of the coordinator once; from then on the console follows every change through the events of XAPI.

  3. 3

    Give access

Local users or your AD/LDAP groups, each with a role: who reads, who operates the VMs, who manages replication and backup, who administers.

  4. 4

    Protect and migrate

Replication and backup jobs, alarms with e-mail and the conversion of the VMware VMs, all from the same console.

XenServer account
One per pool: root, or a domain account with the pool-admin role
Database
Built in, with an encrypted backup of the configuration
How you use it

FAQ

What people ask us

When is it available?

XenConsole is in its final tests on real XenServer pools. You can request a pilot now: we plan it with you, starting from a test environment.

Does it replace XenCenter?

It covers the functions of XenCenter 2026, except Workload Balancing and the PVS-Accelerator. The two can be used side by side on the same pools: XenConsole keeps folders, tags, custom fields, saved searches and maintenance mode the way XenCenter does.

Do I need to install anything on the XenServer hosts?

No. XenConsole uses the XenServer API (XAPI) on port 443, like XenCenter; the fast copy of replication and backup uses NBD on port 10809.

What happens to XenReplica?

Its replication engine is part of XenConsole. When XenConsole is out, XenReplica becomes its edition with replication only, keeping its API, PowerShell and command line.

Does the data go through a cloud?

No. Consoles, replicas and backups go from the pools to the XenConsole machine and to your shares, inside your network. Nothing is sent to Corellix.

Is it an official XenServer product?

No. It is a product of Corellix Software Engineering that uses the public XenServer API. XenServer and Citrix are trademarks of Cloud Software Group, Inc.; VMware, vCenter and ESXi are trademarks of Broadcom Inc.
